As a client you have rights and responsibilities
The Statement of Rights in the Aged Care Act 2024 (effective 1 November 2025) ensures older people in Australian government-funded care are central to the system, focusing on dignity, autonomy, and safety. It replaces the old Charter, with legally binding obligations for providers to respect choices, privacy and safety, allowing residents to live without fear of reprisal.
