Marianne, aged 69, lives in Newmarket. Client since the pandemic, April 2020.
I wish to thank Carolyn, Jason and all the volunteers at Ashgrove Meals on Wheels for their support during my aging process.
The front person Carolyn is always helpful and cheerful on the phone whenever I have a need to make some enquiry or a meal change. She is the backbone and treasure to meals on wheels in Ashgrove. Her warmth is so needed for those of us at home alone who have health and mobility issues.
The delicious meals that Jason cooks, are appreciated and nutritious. He is the unseen hero in keeping us fed and healthy.
And all those behind the scenes, 'The board of management', 'The packers that place food in containers, and label each meal according to dietary restrictions.
And my angels who deliver the food to my door. The only downside for me is when I forget to open the gate. Eek.
I am blessed to know all the staff and volunteers that I have met. Thank you all. Yet what two small words for such a great delivery.
Thank you for your care and kindness.

What Our Volunteers Have To Say
Tessa, Year 10 High School Student (Community Service Program Volunteer)
Thank you all so much for allowing me the opportunity to help out in the kitchen as part of my school community service program last holidays. I very much enjoyed getting to interact with the staff and other volunteers as everyone was incredibly cheerful and kind and immediately welcomed me as a part of the community. I loved being involved in something that was working towards doing good for people and knowing that I was, indirectly, helping those who needed it.
From this experience, I gained stronger initiative and independence, as well as a confidence in myself when interacting with those I have not met before. I also feel motivated to do more within my community and have already joined some more service clubs at my school.
I am truly thankful that I was able to volunteer at Ashgrove Meals on Wheels. The positive atmosphere made my experience all the more enjoyable and I would love to come back one day to see you all again.
